So to help get my interviews along, i posted a note on facebook asking my question for my paper. I tagged a lot of ppl in the note who i especially want answers from. However, even though i put it up a few hours ago, no one has responded. I'm a lil upset but hopefully ill get responses tonite or tomorrow

Since my dad and mom got to see my aunt and uncle today (for my dads bday) my mom asked them my woodstock q for me. She told me my aunt said a whole lot and that that was their wedding weekend! I cant wait to go over it all with my mom tomorrow:)

So over thanksgiving break i found some info in an encycolpedia and i got to interview some of my family members. Also at a store my dad and i go to every year there was a guy who has set up a website on woodstock and 2 people he knows attended the concert and told me to contact them. I cant remember the website off hand but i did write it down. I am so ready to finish all my papers/portfolios and exams and take those 5 1/2 weeks off. *pulls hair out* i need to be done with school so i can start teaching!

A few internet sources I have found that I will be using:

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Woodstock (the parts that have a credible source!)

http://www.woodstock69.com/

http://www.geocities.com/~music-festival/woodstock.htm

http://www.artiekornfeld-woodstock.com/ (by one of the creators, Artie Kornfeld- his story)

So according to the library's website, there is little available book wise on Woodstock. However, when i went to borders, there were so much more books on woodstock! I found an awesome one thats 248 pages, but it is listed as $72.95 (members pay $58)! Pricey much?

Others I have found:

Woodstock: A New Look (144 pages)

Woodstock `69 Festival: 3 Days of Peace and Music (56 pages)

I Would Have Gone to Woodstock (I believe this is for kids)

So as convenient as the internet is, since I will be writing about woodstock i assumed that there have been lots of books written about the concert. I went to the fairfax county public library website to see what was there. I found just a couple that will work for my paper. Here are some that I plan on looking into:

Woodstock : the oral history
    Makower, Joel

Woodstock : the summer of our lives
    Curry, Jack

Both of these books talk about the concert and the importance of the event. This will definitly help me with my paper. I also plan on interviewing people to see what they know/feel about the event.

So i created a midterm project on Woodstock in the form of a video. I'm not one to stand up in front of a class and speak, so I prefer doing media projects. Not to mention I'm tired of PowerPoints, I think they are over used. I enjoyed creating my video, even though the program gave me a rough time occasionally. When I converted it to an mpg, some of the quality decreased and it looks kind of fuzzy and the words are harder to read. But the major points are shown and it is still readable.

This definitely helped in getting me starting to think about my final paper. The websites I used to get the information on Woodstock I will use to write more in depth what happened at Woodstock, how it came about, and why it is such a major event in history. I am glad I found the website made by the creator of Woodstock; it gives how he came up with the idea and what he had to go through, as well as what it was like, etc. I could not believe I found his website, and how awesome he did at writing his story. I wanted to interview someone who attended Woodstock, but I do not think that is needed anymore. I also found the Woodstock website, but its unfortunately under construction:(

Hopefully I'll be able to find more information related to Woodstock for my paper. I wonder how many books I can find at the library...

My first entry....I guess should jsut be an introduction to my subject/genre. I will be researching Woodstock 1969, the bands who performed at the concert, and a lot of the aspects of the concerts including reasons for it and how the music related to the time period including the Vietnam War.
